Opening night for the Susquehanna Art Museum exhibit Found in Transition was last night, April 17, 2015. The exhibit looked wonderful and I was honored to be included. My art sculpture, Tall Dark Handsome, looked great at this museum venue. The mix of art was exceptional. Here are a few shots of the opening last night.
With just a month to go, I am painting away and getting ready for my solo Art showing at the Adams County Arts Council, Gettysburg, PA. The exhibit will be hanging for the entire month of May, 2014.
Some of the art I will be showing will be works on paper but now I am finishing up with some large acrylic paintings on canvas. Maybe it’s the excitement of the upcoming show or the purchase of some new paint colors, but my palette is veering towards the fun and colorful, even more so than the past year. The majority of paintings will have been completed during the past year. And the title for the show? Abstracts: Color Me Happy!
This new painting represents community, titled The Neighborhood, as it reflects people living in proximity with some interacting and others living a solitary life. It was painted in my little studio in Cashtown, PA, just outside of the Gettysburg area.
It’s a fun, colorful piece painted with acrylic, wax crayons, prismacolor pencil. This abstract geometric painting is on bristol board.
